NaNooooooo…No?

Things are going…not well. See, I have this bad habit of thinking I’ve planned something out, when it’s more along the lines of

  1. Gather random notes from everywhere
  2. Decide the main character’s tragic past
  3. Think about my at-least-partly happy ending.
  4. ???
  5. Ta-da! Finished Novel!

And, of course, there’s that thing, the one where I decided to get to fifty thousand words by finishing (not writing from scratch!) not just one, but 2-4 left-dangling WIPs. Even though I’ve always failed at that particular NaNo Rebellion before.

Reader, I was not actually ready to finish any of them.

“But Srivasi!” you cry. “You said you knew exactly what you needed to do, because you’ve spent months putting it off!” Well, yes. I did say that. Then I got to the point, and realized that the ending I had envisioned was…well, boring. (Could it be because I’ve been envisioning it, and not writing it, for months? Well, maybe…and maybe not. I have not done right by Srivasi of late, I can tell you that.)

So yeah. I’m trying. I’ve got cough less than five thousand words cough when I should be past thirteen thousand. But hey! It’s almost five thousand words that I didn’t have before!

All this is to say, that I need to go beat my head on some words. So have a blog post! And much love. <3

whee!

(Have you read May the Best Ghost Win? Did you buy a copy for each of your six closest friends? And did you leave reviews everywhere you could think of??)
