Don't Go Away Mad

You know the song.  “…Just go away.”  It always astonishes me, what I can get done in an hour undisturbed.  Well, mostly.

Today is Wednesday.  On Wednesdays the teachers and kids leave an hour earlier, and the office staff works as fast as possible to take advantage of the brief peace.  That is if we don’t get (all three of us) dragged into trying to find a student who missed his ride and is happily at his best friend’s house playing video games while his mother freaks out.  Or we’re not forced to go to an in-service about how to take time from the stuff we’ll get yelled at for not doing, without a word about how to get that stuff done, so we can spend time helping kids.

Which, again–I’m all for it.  If you won’t penalize me, Oh TUSD, I will drop my work for every 13yo crisis that steps into my office.  Because it is the end of the world to them, and because I do believe that one person caring can make a world of difference to a child.

Anyway.  Wednesday.  Lots done.  Piles pared.  Papers filed.  Yeehaw.
