Attention Seekers

Ever have one of those days when everybody wants just a minute of your time?

Lucky you. Not one person/place/animal/interaction today has taken only a minute of my time. From the lady whom I told “I’m cleaning out my office and leaving for the summer, if you’re not here in the next hour you’ll have to wait till August” THREE TIMES, to the lady at the pharmacy who couldn’t type my phone number no matter how many times she tried, to the lady at the cell phone place who couldn’t get that I don’t give a damn about sending pictures, I wanted to go CHEAPER since I use my cell phone maybe five minutes in a month, through the checkout guy at WalMart (usually love the place) who could not comprehend that I didn’t want that damned stuffed duck, Hope just found it out of place in the store and like the good little citizen I’m trying to raise, gave it to an employee…

Agh. I have new downstairs neighbors, and they’re on the noisy side. I don’t mind all that much, except the dog, used to having the whole three-apartment house to ourselves while the landlord was renovating downstairs, is now going off his rocker. The cat wants petted, the bird wants to go walkabout, I can’t convince the bird he doesn’t want out when the cat is in, I can’t convince the cat he wants out…

And damned if I have one iota of energy to go write anything. I did, however, come up with my daily plan for the summer. Check this out.

Get up on time! (as opposed to sleeping till ten…or later.)

Practice karate.

Make breakfast and work in kitchen.

Hope to day-care. (yay!!)

Errands while I’m out.

When I get home I always head straight for the computer, but I’m usually wasted from the heat. So to start the writing mood–Lay out my galaxy. At this point it’s mostly brainstorming, and I can storm a brain with the best of them. When things need to be set in stone, is when I’ll really start procrastinating.

Take a break and work on getting the office in order.

Plot some Keen. More brainstorming, but more structured. Work the elements and free-write my way to a plot.

Mystery hobby. Not necessarily here, but in the day somewhere. Yeah, I know I said I’d share. I’m not ready yet. No big deal, I’m just shy. (Couldn’t tell from my usual babble, could you?)

Three pages of Eve. This is not negotiable. Eve is, shall we say, the flagship of my series, and she must be done, and done right, soon.

Cook. I have made a vow that I will cook this summer. I must get in the habit of feeding myself and Hope healthy food, and I can’t afford what cooked healthy food costs. I have to do it myself.

Clean. No-brainer here, if I go to bed with the kitchen a mess, I’ll be miserable in the morning.

Go to bed on time! No more of these damn half-nighters just because I can’t find the exact right word. Duh, the more tired I am, the less likely I’ll find it.

So. I am making a few reminder sheets to post around the house, and I’m going to keep one right here by Tamahome (my computer’s name, from Fushigi Yuugi if you must know. I stole him from Miaka. 😉 (Yes, my houseplants have names too. And my car. Got a problem with that?)

Anyway. Right here by Tamahome, and I’m going to post what I got done and where I flubbed. I’m sure you’re all dying to know.

BTW, go to www.thehungersite.com and click on the button to get corporate sponsors to donate food to the hungry. Doesn’t cost you a damn thing. Put it in your Favorites, and click it once a day. Please.

Okay, I believe I said I was going to start going to bed on time. That being 2300 my time. ‘Night, all.
