Christmas Day

Say nice things, say nice things–umm…got the best of both worlds this year.  Cash that was sorely needed, and some really cool presents.  Hope got a ton of stuff and had a blast, but we also had an important discussion regarding Santa, and she agreed that it was okay if he didn’t leave her anything, since she had so much already, and not giving to her left Santa more toys to give to kids who didn’t have as much.

A friend attempted a surprise visit Christmas morning, but got lost.  Which is just as well, if she hadn’t called, we wouldn’t have been home.  So after waiting a couple hours (during which she continued to be lost) we had our Christmas breakfast at Jack-in-the-Box at noon.  Outside I gave a man what I thought was a dollar, got inside and it was a five, I couldn’t afford our meal.  But the cashier gave me her employee discount, so we were okay.

Went to my grandparents’ in the afternoon, where Hope was again grumpy, this time with no reason.  Exactly how can she proclaim “talking is boring” when she never, ever, stops talking?
