I got it, finally! I couldn’t figure out how, at first, because I had this picture of Donte at twelve, and I just couldn’t seem to age the image. So I finally figured a way around it. And anyone who’s ever seen The Karate Kid or The Faculty will totally believe it. Ralph Macchio was, I’m told, 23 when he played 15-year-old Daniel. And Elijah Wood was, I’m pretty sure, in his early twenties when he appeared in The Faculty as, I believe, another 15-year-old. So when you read my book, picture an older Elijah Wood for the doctor, and Ralph Macchio, young and earnest, but not as young as he looks, in the role of Donte. And enjoy! (As neither one of them is exactly hard on the eyes…)
There are an awful lot of disclaimers in that paragraph. (I’m told, pretty sure, etc.) Guess I’ll do some research, hunting down facts that really don’t matter.
