RE: Doomy Summer of Editing DOOM

Okay, Brain, seriously. We have got to kick it into gear. Do you want all these novels still hanging over us when August rolls around? August, and September, when it’s all we can do to crawl to work, and crawl back home?

What about October, and NaNoPubYe’s Fall Warm-Up? You know we could never do that while trying to edit.

And NaNo. National Novel Writing Month. Do you want to waste it editing?

I liked the idea to cut those two scenes. I really did–that was a leap of brilliance. But then we needed to bridge the gap, and I reached for you and you weren’t there.

You let me down, Brain. I expected better. I thought we were in this together. I thought we were partners.

Some of your work is really impressive. That bit about being a doctor on a farming colony? And Borkla’s new name? Fantastic stuff. I know you can produce more of that. But I need you to do it, not hang around in the background cooking up lolcats and pestering me to go watch GACKT videos.

I need you with me on this, Brain. I can’t do it without you.

Together we have done some incredible things. I want us to be that way again. It’s up to you.

I’ll be here. At my desk, waiting.

trustingly yours,

Me
