Making Cookies

Tonight was the potluck dinner at my group, before we break for July.  I knew it was coming, I’ve known it was coming.  I knew what I was making–my to-die-for chocolate chip cookies–and I knew how long it took to make them.  I should, since I make them at least every other potluck because they always get raves.  Even when they’re gushing over my Pumpkin Cheesecake, someone wants to know when I’m going to make “the” cookies again.

So why is it that, once again, I didn’t manage to get the whole batch baked, and was twenty minutes late besides?

I blame Keen.  No, seriously.  Come to think of it, I have a couple excuses.  First, I don’t really know how long it takes to make the cookies, I am always late when I make them.  Cheesecake has to chill for several hours, I make it the night before.  Cookies–I’m always pulling a tray out of the oven when I’m supposed to already be at the group.

And second–Keen was feeling talkative today.  If you knew him, and knew how rare that was…grin.  18,682 is the total, that is TWO THOUSAND words today!  Yay!!!

So yeah.  I didn’t drop my book to go bake cookies as early as I should have.  Go ahead and tell me that potluck was more important.
