Okay, I think I’ve raved about this before.  This show is a prime example of what makes anime so awesome.

I guess I’m late getting on the bandwagon, as it has already been on Adult Swim, but some people don’t watch Adult Swim.  (fools, fools!  You’re missing Bleach!)

Ahem.  Fullmetal Alchemist.  FMA.  It rocks.  Great characters, great story. Well-plotted and well-drawn.

Edward Elric, strong, smart, and proud.  He could easily be obnoxious, except that he got himself and his little brother in a hell of a mess, and now his only goal is to set things right.  You gotta feel for someone who never gives up.

Alphonse Elric, said little brother.  Sweet-tempered and friendly, but that doesn’t mean he lets Ed walk all over him.  His personality is at odds with his appearance, which means he often gets lonely.  (Al is confined to a big scary suit of armor for reasons I won’t explain.)

Roy Mustang, State Alchemist.  Sarcastic, manipulative, and just so damn cool.  One wonders how much he knows.

Winry Rockbell.  Childhood friend of the Elrics, she’s a cute bouncy blonde.  Don’t underestimate her, though, she’s no damsel in distress.  She’s a mechanic–a good one–and she’ll happily take a wrench to anyone impugning her work.

The story–no, I won’t be giving away any of it.  You can find a pretty good explanation here , if you want.  I recommend just watching the show.

Seriously.  Watch the show.
