A Terrifying Lack of Focus

A Terrifying Lack of Focus

There’s just too much I want to do while in between projects, but I want the in-between to not last one second longer than necessary…

Yesterday, around drawing practice and Spanish study, I tried to practice description. I found some pics on pixdaus.com (not linking because it’s DANGEROUS, ZOMG) and had a shot.

At last the unbroken white…broke. From the ridge Flame looked down into a giant bowl scooped from the ice, into water clear and luminous and still. Below the surface lay blue palaces, spiraling columns, glistening reflections of cold dreams.

A stand of birches bordered the meadow. Silver trunks holding high golden leaves, their brilliant welcome shielding darker depths. At their roots grew briars, red leaves and brown, and beyond evergreens cast their heavy shadows to the forest floor.

Far off, a glimpse of mountain, looming grey in a truncated world of white. The driven snow plastered the few trees, burying their color and limning white branches against a white and too-close sky.

A black lake. A pale boat. A horizon of white fog. Still, silent, they wait.

That…was kind of fun. 😀

Anyway. Lack of focus means I forget what I was blogging about, too…

So. I did that. And I worked on Spanish. And I practiced drawing. And I rearranged my desk. And did some other stuff too.

Vacationing is weird.
