I Love My Job

That’s not sarcasm. I’m happy to say that I do indeed love my job. It’s the hours I hate.

I’m not a morning person. The best job, timing-wise, I ever had was the one where I got up at noon, wandered into work at two in the afternoon, and made it home by one a.m. (Four days a week. AWESOME.) I spent from one a.m. (this was before the internet, you know) to about five a.m. writing on my roommate’s word processor, and went to bed as she was getting up.

This job, though…summers are great. I’m lucky; they brought back the program where they take money out of my check all year so I can get paid through the summer. I can do that and still have enough to pay my bills (if I don’t run up stupid amounts) so it works.

After two months, though, it’s probably best that I go back to work. As much as I enjoy the hermit life of summer, too much isolation is not good for a writer. New people, new experiences, all that rubbish. 😉

I just wish it didn’t have to start so early. *staggers off*

  1. I’m registrar at a middle school. It is NOT relaxed! It can be fun sometimes. also, I love kids. Also also, it gives me lots of time off to write.

Most jobs seem to start in that dreaded morning. Why is sleep so not-respected in Grown-Up Land?
