I Saw the ISS on Christmas Day

…on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day…

That’s how the song goes, right?

Well, anyway. I did. I saw the ISS (the International Space Station) on Christmas Day.

See, on Twitter exists this wonderful thing where if you follow @Twisst and you have your (can be generic) location in your profile, they will tell you when and where to look. You’ll think you see it. You’ll notice planes, and swear that planet is moving–and then you’ll spot it, and you’ll know what it is, because nothing else moves that fast yet that slow. And if you’re really lucky and have the right equipment, you might manage to get a good look at it.

It is the coolest frakkin’ thing ever.

And now, what you get when you try to zoom in on the ISS, taking a picture without a tripod at night. Clicky to make it big, if you like.

ISS on Christmas Day

Isn’t it lovely? I find it seriously awesome.
