Stupid Car

Stupid Arctic cold coming down to Arizona.  Stupid car not liking to start in the cold.  Stupid people keeping MY mechanic busy so he’s trying to give me advice over the phone so I’m stuck at home writing instead of going to work…

Have you guessed I’m not really all that upset?  I mean, I hate not having my car.  Don’t get me wrong.  But it’s not the huge problem it once was.  I’m close enough to Hope’s school, I was able to put her on a bus that stops right in front of her favorite crossing guard.  I could easily have made it to work, too, except that if I don’t get the car started (or towed) to my mechanic, I don’t get it back.  So it’s perfectly legit that I’m not at work today.

And I’m not wasting my time, either.  In between mechanic calls, I’m cleaning, decorating a little, and writing.

I added 1400 words to Taro today.  Two good scenes to illuminate his problem early in the book, since the first time through I wasn’t sure what his problem was yet…yay me!
