This afternoon one of the assistant principals came looking for a physical card on a student. I told her if I handled a registration packet with the physical attached, I took it off and gave it to the right person. But I wasn’t going looking for them, I’d get to them when I got to the packets.
And this woman, who has worked at my school for two years at least and knows how I normally keep my office, stood there in my little cave piled high with incoming records and outgoing records and three boxes of registration packets not to mention several piles of same and said, “Are the packets done?”
I laughed in her face. Not funny laugh, not sarcastic, you’re-an-idiot laugh, actual borderline hysterical laughter. I managed to gasp out (in third person, no less) “Sorry. KD needs to go for a walk now,” and got out of there.
Yeah. Not one of my better days.
