Edit Forward!

I have 10,000 words of this edit behind me. Amazing how much better it’s going now that I’ve realized this is not the Spit and Polish Make It SHINY! Last Edit. (sorry for any evoked images)

Yes, I’m doing Holly Lisle’s One-Pass. But–I’m not Holly Lisle. I don’t have nearly the experience with writing an editable book, nor with editing itself. So it’ll take me longer.

This book is, however, going to be awesome.  😀   I’m gathering up the threads of my tapestry, and it’s a great feeling.

Actually, it’s not really like a tapestry. I don’t set the pattern beforehand and then just follow the plan. It’s more like…macrame, maybe. Like when I did it at camp, and sometimes I had string on each finger and a couple strands in my mouth, trying to figure out where I was and where I needed to be. I’ll tell you this–my plant hangers and lanyards never looked like anyone else’s, but along with being unique, they were pretty and functional.

Unique is a good thing, as long as it works. 😉

  1. I wish I could get the gumption to work on my edit. Perhaps I need to be smacked with a fish.

At any rate, huzzah to you for getting work done!

  2. I’ve never done macrame, and if I ended up looking like that while knitting, I’d be in big trouble, but I LOVE the image. ^_^

Also, *belated squee* for realizing you get another chance at the Spit and Polish pass (hee).
