Pondering

So. Stayed home from work today and took medicine and slept a lot. And eventually I started writing. 1500 words later, Not Gay is at 4,770. The goal is 5K. I think I can get it there.

Also worked on my alligator story (an insane project for my favorite group of nutcases outside my family) a very little bit. It’s going to be cute and simple, looks like, and done quickly, I hope.

I’m pondering setting aside the rest of my goals for the week. I’ve decided that while I’d like to write Eve’s Basic training story, which WAS my plan for NaNoPubYe‘s Fall Warm-Up (9/23-10/6) , I’m a lot more interested in editing my second novel (Donte and Selene) and having TWO ready to send out. (Especially as I had a great idea for strengthening the climax of Taro [oh, no, I don’t recall saying I wouldn’t revise Taro until he’d been rejected three times. Are you sure that was me?] which would mean I’d only have ONE ready to send out for a while.)

/parenthetical remarks–briefly

So I’m thinking edit and add 25K (Donte is only 58K) in two weeks. That means reading through it NOW and making a lot of decisions on what I’m doing with it.

I can do it. I think. But it’d sure be easier just to write 25,000 new words in a row…

On the other hand (does that make three hands?) what’s life without a challenge?
