No More Pencils

No more books, no more teachers’ dirty looks…

Okay, so it wasn’t the teachers giving me dirty looks. I stand by the rest.

It’s such a relief this year. It’s never been so bad before. A few more days and I don’t know what I would have done. Quietly imploded, I think, and then burst into tears the next time someone dropped something on my desk.

I’m not done working yet. But the constant pressure, the every other minute someone leaning over my desk wanting something from me…that’s over. I can now DO the things that all year I haven’t had time for. The incredible build-up of unfinished work that has been creating most of the pressure.

And that is all I needed. I hate when I can’t do my job.

On a far more important note, I wrote 581 words tonight. Keen is finally, finally, starting to rock along. That means I’m near the end (*sniff*). And what a slog it’s been! I’ve never had a book that resisted being written so hard! And yes, I can make general statements like that. When this one is done, I’ll have written six books. Not counting the fanfics, two of which are book-length.

I also found out today that next Friday is my last day of work. Holy jumping Jehosaphat, TWO WHOLE MONTHS of freedom!! If I don’t get some serious writing done, someone please shoot me.

God bless and keep my kids. And may they learn (“my” kids are usually among the troublemakers) to make better choices!
