Fighting Inertia

Fighting Inertia

So I’ve been awfully tired lately. Since moving, we’ve been settling in, working late, having an awful lot of appointments…and so on and so forth. To illustrate how tired I’ve been–last week the kid went to respite. Dropped her off Friday afternoon, didn’t have to pick her up till Sunday afternoon. I had a million and one things I wanted to get done while I didn’t have to worry about her.

What did I get done? A lot of sleeping, and that’s about it. Almost the whole weekend. Grr!

This weekend, I vowed, would be different. And it has been so far. Today we talked about rearranging the living room, and towards that end we moved a few things. I ran the dishwasher twice. The housemate made cookies (I list this because we fell upon them like ravening beasts, and that took energy.)

Also I did a few bits of Spanish homework (which means I have a ton more TO do, before Monday night at 9.)

Last but totally not least, I wrote about 500 words of my new story. I’ve discovered my MC’s most common way of expressing irritation is a phrase that translates to “your mother’s whiskers.”

I like this girl.
