another exciting friday night

i’m doing my taxes ’cause I get money back. typing in all lower case because i aggravated my carpal tunnel (i think) and stretching for the shift key hurts. yes, i know i’m supposed to hit shift with the hand not typing a letter. i’ve never done it that way. shhh…

friday night and all i really want to do is sleep. there’s nothing wrong with that. it’s been a rough week. i need to recover. tomorrow and sunday will be full of editing, or so i hope.

yeah. onwards. sleep well, friends.

  1. *hugs* I hope you slept well! Sorry to hear your wrists are acting up. I type that way too. In fact, the last typing class that I took (required, not needed), I started out the class hitting Shift with the other hand so it would slow me down and I’d show improvement. >_> Given that I was typing ~105 wpm when I started.

    Yay for refunds!

    1. man, don’t you love being forced to pay for something you don’t need? I can understand making kids try new things in high school. But you should totally be able to test out of (and not pay for!) requirements in college.

  2. I could never learn the proper way to type because I taught myself when I was 7 and apparently I’m hardwired to do it the way I’ve always done it. So in Typing class in high school, I’d pretend to type correctly. But to this day, I still type my way. (And I’m faster).

    Huzzah for refunds.

    1. I took typing in…9th grade? But then about my second NaNo I decided to switch to Dvorak, and it was like learning to language (hush, that’s a verb) all over again. Holly Lisle likened it as trying to learn to speak after a stroke–the words were still there, but they came out all wrong! So I totally get people who don’t want to attempt retraining.
