KD’s Around Here Somewhere

Pain medicine is a marvelous thing when one is in pain, but neither pain nor the antidote leave a lot of brain for blogging. Also my fingers keep going funky. So here I am–reporting in, and running out.

A few slightly random observations:

Nurses are the best of us. I am SO NOT KIDDING here. How they stay smiling, and gentle, and careful and caring of your pain no matter what…I’m grateful. Becky and Emily in Pre-Op, Lisa and Summer my OR nurses, the young lady in post-op whom I was never clear enough to catch her name, then Colleen, Doreen, Heidi, Marissa, Tonya, Lorna, Gina (I think) who took my blood, Diana…raining down blessings on your houses, ladies. Thank you so much.

On the other end of the spectrum from nurses, cats do not care. They may be made, through the use of high-pitched squeals and spray bottles and such things, to observe new rules like not walking on the human’s stomach, but you are still primarily a cat-rest and you’re best off remembering that. Mercy is for dogs.

Pop-tarts and pizza delivery are totally necessary sometimes. Especially when you never want to see another wiggle of Jello in your life.

Fourteen-year-olds pressed into nursing duty will not suddenly become good at it. Sigh.

So…there you go. A blog. Now I’m going back to bed. Much love, folks.

  1. KD! KDKDKDKDKDKDKDKD!

    I feel like Heather.

*runningtackleglomps your cats* That should distract them for a while. >_> And glompt-by-proxy shouldn’t be too painful for you. *hugs gently & sends at least one of her family nurses to wait upon you*

  2. Nurses are awesome. I’ve only ever experienced two very bad nurses, so I consider myself lucky. *has many, many hospital visits to her name*
