I Have a Dresser!

Well, I’ve had a dresser.  Bought it a year and a half ago.  It’s just that until tonight, it’s been in pieces.  In a box.

Stop laughing.  I had good reason.

No, really.  See, I bought it and shoved it up the stairs at the old apartment, and it sat for a while in my office.  I just didn’t have the energy to push it up the stairs to the bedroom, and there was no way I could put it together and then take it up.

So.  It sat.  I was thinking of moving, so I didn’t want to put it together in my bedroom then have to leave it there.  Eventually, though, I did shove it up the stairs.  Where it sat.  John was selling the place, so again–if I put it together, I’d have to leave it.  Finally the place sold, and Scott said he wasn’t going to raise the rent or make me move.  I gathered energy to put the dresser together.

Scott informed me he was going to put carpet in that bedroom.  I waited some more.  I gave up on him, then Bly began considering moving.  The plan was always if she came, we would be getting a larger place.  My dresser waited some more.

We were very happy to move that one piece of furniture so easily, believe me!

I used a screwdriver, an electric screwdriver, an allen wrench, a hammer, and I’d moved up to a drill.  I almost got to using a chainsaw–but I got that damned thing together.

And it’s purty.
