god help us, a teenager

god help us, a teenager

My kid is turning fourteen.

Fourteen. Wow. Thirteen was rough, but I could still be in denial. Thirteen isn’t really a teenager, really. She’s just started! The first year doesn’t count!

My kid is now a teenager. God help us all. In two years she’ll be eligible to drive (in one year and six months, she can get her learner’s permit!) Four more years and she and I might be going to college together.

Pardon me while I boggle. I should be doing about half a million things, but I’m just kind of floored by that one fact.

At least we are (hopefully) past the “I didn’t know it would (choose one) fall apart/wither and die/catch fire!” stage?

  1. Oh dear Lork, DRIVING? (Yes, yes, in 1.5 years.) That’s the milestone that always blows my mind.

Happy early Birthday to the (official) teenager though. 🙂

  2. Well…don’t tell anyone, but her education will probably begin early, as she’s SO BAD at so many things required of a good driver. Watching where you’re going, paying attention to the road, et cetera…
