Because I Love Joss

Because I Love Joss

I’m editing! Yay, me! Here’s something I can’t stop snickering over. It won’t mean as much to you as it does to me, but I’m posting it anyway–just so I can move on.

Well inside the building, but before anyone entered the Chamber itself, security men searched people. Paige swallowed hard as one man then another patted down Marchal.

“You won’t be searched,” Lady Rukya said as Joss took his turn and loudly proclaimed it the most fun he’d had in a week. “Guards have been known to be overly zealous in their task; they are searched so the only way they can be armed is through the collusion of their chief. This way we are accountable.”

“Two searchers, from randomly selected tribes,” Tabitha said, stepping forward for her turn. “Chiefs get to stand on their honor.”

“And we are able to vouch for guests,” Lady Rukya finished. Paige opened her mouth to speak, but Joss smacked one of the searchers, berating the man for “cheating” on him with Tabitha, and Lady Rukya led through the checkpoint before Paige could get a word in.
